No install needed

Harbor works in any modern browser: Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox. It’s the same app with the same account.

Open Harbor in your browser

iPhone and Android

Phone apps are on the way, with a private test for early teachers first. Until then, openapp.harbor.academy on your phone and add it to your home screen.

Opening Harbor for the first time

We’re finishing Apple and Microsoft code signing. Until then, your computer will ask you to confirm the first time you open Harbor. This is normal for new apps and only happens once.

Mac

  1. Open the downloaded file and drag Harbor into Applications.
  2. Open Harbor from Applications. If macOS says it can’t verify the app, click Done.
  3. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down, and click Open Anyway next to Harbor.

Windows

  1. Run the downloaded installer.
  2. If you see “Windows protected your PC”, click More info, then Run anyway.

Linux

  1. AppImage: make the file executable (chmod +x Harbor-linux.AppImage) and run it.
  2. .deb: install it with sudo apt install ./Harbor-linux.deb.

Harbor updates itself. When a new version is ready, it will ask before installing.

For school IT teams

Installers are built from our source by automated builds, and every update is cryptographically signed and verified by the app before it installs. SHA-256 checksums for version 0.1.0:
